The highly anticipated The Latest & Greatest DUAL SESSIONS are back, featuring The Hon Justice O'Brien, Family Court of Western Australia and The Hon Justice Altobelli AM, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1).
Over two and half hours of content, discussing leading family law cases from the last 12 months, the program provides an excellent opportunity for you to get up to date with the latest developments in family law, gain CPD points, and network with colleagues.

ADVANCED SESSION: PROPERTY - Death and Personal Injury in Family Law
We can expect an increased focus on the role that family violence plays in property cases. An experienced panel looks at the potential interplay between remedies and at Common Law for damages for personal injury and orders under the Succession Act and Property cases in our Courts.

early career lawyers SESSION: Preparation of Affidavits and the Presentation of Evidence
How to effectively draft an Affidavit from scratch which is both compliant with the relevant rules of court and effective in presenting evidence in a manner which is persuasive and useful to your client. The session will cover preparation before your first meeting with a client, obtaining instructions, assessing relevance, sifting out superfluous material, drafting concisely, settling, dealing with client insistence about the inclusion of certain material, choosing exhibits and annexures.

PARENTING - The scourge of family violence and how best to deal with it; A range of perspectives
Practitioners often find themselves at the coal face of Australia's epidemic of family violence, appearing for both the alleged perpetrators and the alleged victims in the Family Law system. How do we best deal with it? How can we improve the outcomes for families involved? What should we be doing differently?
In this free-flowing panel discussion, we will hear a diverse range of perspectives—from a judge, a solicitor, and a clinical psychologist—each bringing a wealth of collective experience to the conversation.
