The 8th World Congress Family Law & Children’s Rights Conference 2021 “Through the Eyes of a Child” (the World Congress) will be held virtually from 12 – 16 July 2021.

The World Congress is held in a different country every four years and is a platform for many stakeholders to attend and discuss best practices to promote the rights of children and those most vulnerable in Family Law.

The collaboration between delegates is multi-disciplinary, including government departments, NGOs, Courts, lawyers, social scientists, academics, and enforcement officers.

The Australian Federal Police have provided major support to the World Congress including support for a focus on current global issues impacting children and families in this space.

The 8th World Congress Family Law & Children’s Rights Conference 2021 is presented by the World Congress on Family Law & Children’s Rights and LAWASIA (The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific). It was originally scheduled to be held in Singapore in 2020 for what would have been LAWASIA’s biennial conference but was postponed due to COVID-19 and is now being held online in 2021.

The World Congress is a major international event focusing on Family Law and Family Law processes and the rights of children and youth as well as families.

We are privileged to have our patron The Honourable Sundaresh Menon SC, Chief Justice of Singapore who joins past patrons including Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Her Excellency Mary Robinson, Hillary Clinton, and Dame Graca Machel Mandela DBE.
