The Family Law Intensive series provides an excellent opportunity for you to get up to date with the latest developments in family law, gain CPD points and network with colleagues.

Designed to suit both junior and senior practitioners, the Adelaide program includes:

  • Latest and Greatest. A review and analysis of the leading family law cases of the last 12 months.
  • Family violence from the ‘other side’ – acting for the perpetrator. A discussion of the benefits and limitations of intervention, education, diversion and rehabilitation and how to best encourage attitudinal change for your client, taking into account the tensions between the family law and criminal law systems.
  • Not drowning, waving - when family law and commercial worlds collide. Family Law and Corporations Act considerations when the family assets become the family liabilities. An analysis and explanation of the issues arising with bankruptcy, insolvency, administration, winding up and liquidation.
  • Answers to a failing family law system- arbitration, delay, mediation. As clients, lawyers and judges struggle with delays and workload, our expert Panel tackle the big issues and search for answers to a family law system that everyone now seems to agree is in crisis.
  • “Life in the Duty List” - your ‘how to guide’ for interim hearings. A dedicated stream for junior practitioners about preparing and running interim financial and parenting cases from the point of view of a solicitor, the bar and the bench.
  • Informal networking drinks.

Registration includes entry to sessions, access to digital papers via the FLS App or weblink, morning and afternoon tea, lunch and post-event networking function.
